Apple Cider Donuts - Long Island, NY - Laffey Real Estate

Apple cider donuts are a favorite treat in the Suffolk County area of New York, and although you can often buy them fresh year-round, they're an especially good fall treat. The cake-like donuts are flavored with apple cider as well as spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice to create a deliciously unique flavor.

Our real estate agents suggest visiting the following farms and farm stands in and near Suffolk County to indulge in apple cider donuts.

  • Harbes Family Farm - 715 Sound Ave., Mattituck, NY 11952
For over 30 years, Harbes Family Farm has operated a popular Mattituck farmstand, seeing it grow from a modest gazebo to a large operation. Stop by the East End destination for one of the farm's signature apple cider donuts, made fresh daily with real apple cider. While you're there, you can also pick up some farm-fresh produce, including super-sweet corn, apples, tomatoes, peaches, and watermelon.

  • Wickham's Fruit Farm - 28700 Main Rd., Cutchogue, NY 11935
At Wickham's Fruit Farm, the apple cider doughnuts are made fresh every day (Monday-Saturday, since the farm is closed on Sundays). The cider is made from a blend of apples grown on the farm, combined to create a unique flavor, and pressed on the farm. No preservatives are used—just pure apple juice, which is processed with an ultraviolet treatment for food safety. The farm is also home to the oldest cider press on Long Island, built in 1902.

  • Milk Pail Fresh Market - 1346 Montauk Hwy., Watermill, NY 11976
Owned and operated by the Halsey family since 1969, the Milk Pail Fresh Market is just down the road from the family road and overlooks Mecox Bay. All their homemade goods—including their delicious apple cider doughnuts—are made in Watermill using their own produce. Browse the market for their fresh-grown produce, flowers, the Milk Pail's applesauce, and much more, including gourmet items from the East Coast. To make it even easier, you can order your apple cider donuts and other items from the market online and have them delivered locally or pick them up curbside.

  • Breeze Hill Farms - 31215 Country Rd. 48, Peconic, NY 11958
    Breeze Hill Farms
has 30 acres of apples grown in 26 varieties, so it's not surprising they also make fresh cider and tasty apple cider doughnuts. Their farm stand has a cafe where you can relax with a cup of coffee and donut or another sweet treat. While you're there, you can also buy some items such as farm-fresh produce, local cheeses, homemade applesauce, and organic jams.

  • Jericho Cider Mill - 213 Route 106, Jericho, NY 11753
    Jericho Cider Mill
has a long tradition of selling apple cider and other treats like pies and apple cider donuts. The cider mill presses more than 40,000 gallons of cider each year from apples grown in the Hudson Valley. If you'd like to try other baked goods along with your donuts, take home some apple crisp or a pie such as an apple-peach combination. You'll find the cider mill just around the corner from Jericho homes for sale
